- Our domain

Our domain extends over three “communes” : Eguisheim, Herrlisheim, Wintzenheim. Since 2001, our vineyards have entered an organic labelling process and are controlled by a public certification authority : Ecocert. In that way we will obtain the“wine from organic grapes” label starting with the Millésime 2004.
Today our 9 ha of vineyards are AOC labelled (label guaranteeing the quality of wine). The full range of Alsatian vines is present : Gewurtztraminer, Muscat, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir, Sylvaner, Pinot Gris, Riesling. Within these 9 ha, we own 1.36 ha of AOC Alsace Grand Cru, which are the Eichberg and the Pfersigberg, both unique and generous vineyards.
Besides our wines, we carry on the tradition of “Eaux de vie” (liquors) which we produce with our own fruits.
You will experience the outcome of 12 generations of labour and authenticity.

- History

It all began in 1610 in Eguisheim, the cradle of Alsatian wines. When viticulture was only farming, the Ginglingers practiced polyculture, and by planting vines, became wine-growers.
The headoffice of the family’s company is located in a large 1684 house in the heart of a pittoresque village named Eguisheim.
It is still possible to admire the hall’s 1684 carved stone which became the logo of our company.
In 1946, Henri Ginglinger and his wife took over the family domain that extended only on 1.30 ha, with a precise aim : developing it. Thanks to their work and will, they met their objective as, in 1969, the family company cultivated 5.30 ha of vineyards.
In 1976, Pierre Henri Ginglinger, their son, decided to take over the company. With the help of his wife, Marthe, he managed to extend this domain to 9 ha. In 2001, the twelfth generation was born when Mathieu, one of their two sons, took over.

- Our philosophy

Tradition.
It is one of the best arguments of wine history. However few can talk about it.
For centuries, our family has been concerned about our clients’ satisfaction but also about the environment. Indeed, good wine-growers will tell you : “to produce good wine, you need good grapes”. That is so right, but how do you get good grapes? The answer is : by respecting the land. The Ginglinger family understood this a long time ago.
You may have noticed or will notice that the Ginglinger Family is entering its fourth year of organic-labelling process.

- Organic viticulture

What does it mean?
Organic viticulture means that no synthetic treatment product (chemical product) is used. We respect the environment and our consumers. We do not generate any pollution and we protect both fauna and flora.
For us innovation is not related to the organic labelling process since our cultivation techniques remain the same. Indeed, we have been respecting our environment for years.
Innovation is related to the fact that we are controlled by Ecocert. In fact, being organic means being more respectful of the land, it means working harder but this is worth it when you believe in what you do. Today we can assert that our wines are produced with organic grapes.
For our family, tradition does not only mean vines, ploughing, but also the use of tuns. We do prefer wood because it has been used for ages for wine elaboration. This is where the wine lives. To sum up, our wines are synonymous with authenticity.
